NITIE, a home away from my home, a place which protects us from the hustle and pollution of city by its lush greenery, a beautiful campus located at the heart of Mumbai and a place which is producing some of the best leaders and managers of high pacing industry for the past 50 years. This is a brief introduction of NITIE which is known as the “Gods own Campus”.
Here are a few things which make it one of a kind –
1. Nurturing Engineers into Managers –
It is one of a kind which has its gates open only for Engineers. The curriculum is designed in such a way that students have to choose their electives according to their interests which include technical as well managerial field for example Fuzzy logic and its application in Industries, Logistics, TQM and Six Sigma, Stochastic process and Ergonomic etc. The Electives are not only managerial but also technical which make students proficient in handling Techno managerial roles in leading organizations.
2. A Sky full of Alumni –
NITIE is one of the oldest B-Schools, it has been consistently giving one of the best leaders in the industry. A legacy of 50 years is not something one can forget about. Alumni base it has simply is incredible. Every other sector, be it supply chain, sales, marketing, consulting, finance or operation, you pick one, it will bleed NITIE’s product.
3. Bang for your Buck –
As we all know, it’s not a child’s game to afford education in one of the established B-School in India. But the picture is somewhat different here. The Investment is like a drop in the ocean of return.
4. MAHAMANDI –
An Independent learning platform for students where they learn marketing skills by integrating theoretical principles of managerial economics and basic research with a practical application by selling random things on the street of Mumbai given on spot. It is the first business school in India which has experimented such a thing. The money collected by students is donated to the NGO Navnirmiti.
5. Stairway to success–
NITIE has the tallest hostel building (Taylor Hall of 16 floors) in the country accommodating around 800 students, surrounded by lakes on all three sides along with Rajiv Gandhi National Park in the background stands as an epitome of tranquillity. There is a 96 steps stairway from hostel to academic block which ensures that the students experience a mini trek twice, daily.
6. Late Night Safari –
It is exactly as it sounds. It is one of those campuses which has a reputation of having real predators like snakes especially cobras and pythons, leopards and our own campus crocodile. Sounds interesting? Yes it is. The security guards are always at high alert to keep them from disturbing the students. The view of NITIE is serene. There is a reason why it is a called the “Gods own Campus”.
So, this was all about my campus in a nutshell, NITIE Mumbai.
Which Aditya Birla Company I would like to work for?
I would want to work for Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited as it can offer me a lead role in the field of my interest i.e. Supply Chain and Operations management. From a few months, I have developed an interest in stock market and trading which has enhanced my skill to understand patterns and trends within the given data and I am keen to apply such skills in supply chain and operations.
