It was 2016 and I was in the final year of my graduation and I was making decisions on choosing the career path . I created my profile on LinkedIn and started having conversations with working professionals to understand which work profile suits me and also to understand the industry demand.
Analytics caught my attention and started doing courses on it and making my profile aligned to the industry needs. It was a tough decision but I decided to only appear for companies offering analytics profile. I had only three shots and was unable to covert. The placement process ended and I started looking for opportunities.
I made an introspective analysis of myself, understanding my weakness, my shortfalls, my areas of improvement and started working on them. In parallel I kept on making my profile strong on LinkedIn, communicating with people, taking feedback, preparing my resume, making profile on various job portal, forwarding my resume and many more. It was like analyse, learn, improve, repeat. Staying positive was a challenge to me specially when all my friends started working, when you started hearing from your relatives and parents. Yes, it was difficult to stay focused , stay optimistic but I took it as a challenge.

But as they say : “ Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard”. I got an interview call from a leading financial organisation for analytics profile. It was a three round interview process and gave my everything in it. It was like I had this one shot and I need to grab it.
It was 7th November 2016, when I received my offer letter and that it was perhaps the happiest moment in my life to see my name in offer letter, So, yes it was a challenging period of 5 months of hardwork which finally turned to be fruitful.
Now when I look back I feel proud of myself and with 11000+ connection over LinkedIn , being in top 2% of Social Selling Index across Industry and Network bench marked by LinkedIn I have come a long way and I would like to conclude saying that if you work hard, overcome challenges you will attain success.
