The Cultural Diversity At IIM Raipur

The Indian Institute of Management Raipur was set up in the year 2010 by the Government of India. It was inaugurated by Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh on 11 October 2010. It is located on the outskirts of the city of Raipur in a place known as Sejbahar.

I cleared the interview process and was shortlisted for four IIM campuses including the Raipur campus. Now, I had a choice to make, which campus to choose and why should I go for that campus? I was in a dilemma. I went through all the campuses profiles and searched what they had to offer. After a long and a thorough search process, I finally chose Raipur and I think that was the campus I rooting for.

There were things that made my choice making process easier was that Raipur is a student driven institute, from admission process to the placements everything is handled and taken care by the students of IIM Raipur and that made me think that if I was a part of any of the committees there would be a drastic as well overall development of my personality. The second thing that helped me made up my mind was the infrastructure that the new campus offers us. It has got everything that is needed by a student to turn into a perfect MBA professional.

The cultural diversity is one of the most important things that is needed to grow and IIM Raipur contributes to it greatly. The students are from all over India, from the west to the east and from the south to the north, just name the place and you will find someone from that place. One of the most important things needed for a cultural development is getting exposed to various cultures and IIM Raipur offers one of the best International exchange programs and has tie-ups with 19 foreign universities.

The last and the most important factor that went into my decision-making process was that IIM Raipur has a fresher percentage of around 45% and being a fresher that was the sole factor that made me choose IIM Raipur.

And being here finally I realized that this is the place I have always wanted to be.

Which ABG company would I like to work for and why?

Being a marketing aspirant, the company I will go for is the Aditya Birla Retail limited. The reason for choosing this is that it’s the fourth largest supermarket chain in the country. I think as a marketing aspirant it would give me the opportunity to develop my skills and to implement what I will learn here at IIM Raipur. Being in this company I would be exposed to the most important clients in the business world and that means that i would get to learn a lot.

The company has been grown exponentially since its inception in 2007 and since its growing now it is not a doubt that company would the largest supermarket chain in the country and that gives me the opportunity to grow with the company. At last I would like to add that the company has seen its ups and downs had yet it has stood still, growing no matter what and that is why I want to choose Aditya Birla Retail Ltd. as my company to shine.
