Understanding The Four Sections of The IIFT Exam
Section | No. of Questions |
Marks per Question |
Maximum marks |
|
Reading Comprehension & Verbal Ability | 35 | 3 | 105
Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation | 30 | 3 | 90
Quantitative Analysis | 25 | 3 | 75

When compared with major exams like CAT, the General Awareness section is the biggest differentiator. Out of these 20 questions in the GA section, roughly 75% are static and the rest are current affairs. This is said to be one of the most difficult sections to crack despite having the lowest cut-off score. In IIFT, the VA-RC section can be very scoring and is very important. Out of 35 questions, 16 belong to RC and 19 to VA. These 19 questions comprise FIB, crossword and synonyms, para-jumbles, etc. Within the LRDI section, 18 questions belong to DI and 12 to LR. Calculation intensive DI is a common element of the IIFT exam.
