350 employees in a firm. firm has to give bonuses. 10 rs to males 8.15 to females. All females accepted the bonus, And x% males rejected the bonus, the total amount of bonus to be given is independent of the no. of male employees. How much bonus did the female employees get in total?
I solved it a little, and asked mam for the ratio of men to women. mam said not given. I thought more, asked for the total budget given, mam said not given, I finally asked her if males were 0. Mam said no. So after trying to solve it, i said the answer is coming in variables, mam said it should be a definite value. so I told mam I am unable to solve it.
Then sir took over and said he will ask me from a different topic, he asked -
There's a chance that in the population, 1 % of the people have a disease. Then if you get tested... And the result is +ve, the probability of you having the disease is 90%, And if the result is -ve there is still a probability of 10% of you having the disease. now you got tested, and it came positive. So now what's the probability of you having the disease?
I solved using bayes theorum, but i heard 1% population as 10% so i got the answer as 1/2 so sir pointed out the "1%" then I solved it again and got 9/108 which was correct. Sir asked a follow up "Do you not think it is very low considering u got a positive test?" I thought for 10 secs and answered because the population is 1% hence it makes sense. Sir said yes correct answer.
Now he told me he's going to share the screen and show me a building, which I have to identify.
I answered "the architect is definitely Antoni Gaudi, I can tell from the art style of the balconies but I am unsure of the name of the building". Sir then proceeded to show me the next photo, but it being not very descriptive of the structure, he closed the website. Then asked me to name any 3 buildings of the architect, but his share screen was still on and it was showing the google results of the same. And the names of the buildings were on the screen. I answered "Sir, i can see the answers on the share screen". Then he quickly closed it and said he just wanted to hear "Gaudi" and that he was done.
And that was the interview.
They asked me if I have any questions, I asked them about the campus and if the lakes there cause any issues. Mam mentioned flooding. Mam asked me my best call and asked me which institute I would prefer, A or C. I gave a diplomatic answer saying it is a difficult choice for me. I felt being overtly complimentary will not seem genuine. Mam said she understood, while smiling. And said I can leave the meeting.
