Honestly amazed at their punctuality, the waiting time was barely 5 minutes. No document verification either.

Date: - 1st March 2021. (Morning slot)

Panel - 1 male professor (P1- in his 30's) 1 female professor (P2- in her 40's)

P1 & P2 - Good morning, Anushka!

Me: Good morning!

P2: How are you doing today?

Me: I'm doing great, ma'am! (internally lying because I had to wake up at 7:30 am in the morning)

P2: So tell us something about yourself.

Me: Started off with the prepared answer.

P2: So where are you right now?

Me: Told.

P2: When do you plan on coming back?

Me: Ma'am I just arrived yesterday in the afternoon.

P1: We'll start with your core areas. What's your favorite subject? Are you comfortable with your accounting and other courses? (and here begin the academics rapid fire)

Me: Said banking is my favorite subject.

P1: Okay then. What is the Basel III norm? (Why this out of all things on this planet?)

Me: Explained as much as I remembered.

P1: What are NPAs and how are they presented on the balance sheet?

Me: Answered.

P1: What is the CAPM model?

Me: Answered.

P1: What is a cash flow statement and why is it important?

Me: Explained.

P1: Why can't I just use the balance sheet and calculate the liquidity ratio?

Me: Explained the detailed format of the cash flow statement etc. and how they provide a more in-depth analysis of cash generators and cash users.

P1: Okay, last question. If my P/L statement shows a 1000 crore profit but net cash flow shows only 700 crores of inflow, what does it mean?

Me: Explained the concept of accrual accounting and the cause for difference.

P2: Okay Anushka, I'll be giving you a topic, you can think about it for 30 secs and you need to speak on it for 1 minute.

Me: Sure!

Topic - NRIs value India more than others.

P2: Are you comfortable with the topic or do you want me to change it?

Me: I'm absolutely fine with the topic. (Does it even get better than this :) )

Spoke for a minute about my personal experience and why NRIs do value India more than others. Gave it a slightly personalized touch.

P2: So I'm quite interested in Kolkata. What government is in power currently?

Me: Answered.

P2: Who is heading it?

Me: Answered

P2: Who's the governor?

Me: Answered.

P2: What is the issue between them?

Me: Explained the general power tussle between BJP and TMC because I wasn't aware of the exact issue between the two. ( I absolutely despise politics and I had honestly given up hopes of getting anything correct anymore)

P2: What was Mamata Banerjee's latest query to the election commission?

Me: Wasn't aware of it.

P2: What is NRC?

Me: Answered.

P2: What is section 377?

Me: Answered (had a slight moment of confusion between the matter of 370 and 377, but got it right eventually)

P2: Alright, that'll be it Anushka. Any questions you have for us?

Me: Asked about the logo of IIM Indore, to which they said even they're not aware of its significance.

P2: Thank you Anushka, you may leave the meeting now.

Me: Said thank you to both of them and logged out.

Overall duration - 20 mins

(A very pleasant interview, no grilling or intimidation as such. Really loved the extempore topic, definitely let me talk more about myself. I wish I'd not have ventured into the political realm, but guess it had to be dealt with. And as usual, my math shield doing wonders, no math/stats at all.)
