Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) was established in 1979 by Dr. Verghese Kurien, popularly known as the Father of the White Revolution in India. IRMA’s vision is of promoting sustainable, ecologically friendly, and equitable socio-economic development of rural people through professional management. Towards this end, Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) has been training rural managers and producing cutting edge knowledge on rural issues over the last 41 years.
Over four decades, IRMA has played a pioneering role in providing quality education in rural management. In a rapidly growing global economy, IRMA`s commitment to knowledge creation has led to its reputation of being a knowledge institution as well as a hub for teaching, training and research. Through its flagship program, the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management), or the PGDM(RM), IRMA has not only germinated the concept of quality education in rural management and development, but actively fostered it. The rural management curriculum includes rigorous training in functional management areas and issues in development. The unique pedagogic style has evolved to accommodate the needs of our rural populace as well as the requirements of the industry, in order to provide a nuanced managerial perspective to the work of IRMA graduates.
The following criteria will be used for the final selection of candidates:
• CAT 2021 / XAT 2022 Percentiles (35%)
• Personal Interviews (PI) (35%)
• Written Ability Test (5%)
• Academic Performance (5%) - (10th Std.: 1.5%, 12th Std.: 1.5% and Graduation: 2%)
• Gender Diversity (3.5%) - (Female and Transgender: 3.5%, Male: 0)
• Regional Diversity (5%) - If a candidate can provide a valid proof of having passed their 10th/12th Std from a school located in an aspirational district, they will get 2 marks in their final score. North Eastern State residents will receive 3 marks provided they submit a valid domicile certificate.

1. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management)
PGDM (RM) is a two-year fully residential programme leading to a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural
Management).
The curriculum of our two-year fully-residential program in rural management includes courses on marketing,
finance, development, operations, organization design and systems in the rural context. It is designed with an
emphasis on experiential learning through two internship segments, which provides four months of on-field
learning. Areas of focus include cooperatives, dairying, agribusiness, rural finance, microfinance, rural marketing,
development consulting and public policy, development project execution, social change interventions, big data,
operations and analytics.
Tuition Fee: Rs. 11,74,990/- for two years
