Challenge faced and overcame :
The most challenging situation I have faced so far was when I was studying in 12th standard and 2 months before my board exams my mother was diagnosed with carpel tunnel syndrome. She already is an arthritis patient since past 22 years. Since my father and brother used to live very far away from home due to work commitment, I became the one responsible to take care of my mother, managing household chores, doctor’s appointments and my board exams which were very important for me. The responsibility of handling a house and my studies was quite challenging. I learnt how to prioritize and to utilize my time effectively, efficiency was still a far cry. Keeping aside the part of having to work hard, the more difficult thing for me was to being a mother to my mother. Patients suffering from carpel tunnel syndrome feel extreme restlessness in the affected body part because of blockage of blood flow, so my mother could not sleep at night because of constant restlessness and then I used to massage her hands till she closes her eyes. I learnt how to be emotionally strong during this period and understood that many a times you just have to do whatever is thrown at you. Nevertheless, with constant efforts, new learning and with the support of my classmates and teachers, I excelled in CBSE board examinations and got admission in the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.
