I can confidently say that I have never met any guy like Raktim in my entire life. Wait ! Let me rephrase, I have never met such a weird and unorthodox guy like Raktim. When I first met him he seemed like a normal guy but as I got to know him, I found there’s nothing normal about him. Raktim can be described as reincarnation of a Panda, since he is the laziest guy in the college. Though lazy but he knows how to get his work done from others by constantly nagging about it to others. Occasionally out of the blue, whether he may be in the class or anywhere, Raktim’s nerve cells activity gets disturbed and he starts clapping (He is not mentally retarded, I think). And the humorous part is that after a year staying with him, many of us are getting such seizures like him. This 27-year-old assamese human is one living piece of Marvel.
Soul Number 2: Phukhato Sema
Another soul from Assam or Nagaland, although we are still not clear where he hails from neither I think he does. If you meet him for the first time, you will think what is a small child doing at an IIM but when he plays any sport you will forget about his size. For me, he is the best sportsman we have in our college, in other words “Chota packet bada dhamaka”. When I met him for the first time he was a silent and obedient guy but after a year he is the most playful guy and we have played a part in making him one. Phukhato is a guy who will help others at his cost and that is a quality which I think everyone should try to learn from him.
Soul Number 3: Sumit Kumar
Sumit kumar aka “Chota Don” in our campus, is a jharkhandi boy from the town of Tata steel. When you are with him, it is unpredictable whether he will behave literally like a 5-year-old or like 35-year-old matured guy and yeah that’s what makes him different from others except from Raktim. Raktim always behaves like a 3-year-old child. Looking at him, a thought that this thin looking guy goes to gym will never cross your mind and yet he has one of the best physique in our batch.
Soul Number 4: Prateek V.
Prateek V., the cosmopolitan and knowledgeable gentleman from Bangalore is a unique man on his own. If you have ever get a chance to sit with him, you will be amused with his stories about the world and his experience. Prateek always acts like he is the laziest person in the college yet undoubtedly when things need to get done he will be the most active person in the college. He will occasionally bombard you with jargons which is a pre-requisite for being an MBA and occasionally will insult you while laughing and yet you will not feel insulted since you know he is just being himself.
These 4 souls have in their own taught a lesson not only to me but to everyone around them. I am sure that everyone will remember them after we have completed our 2-year stint at IIM Sirmaur.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Limited is one of the premier apparel company in the textile market. This unit comprises of the top brands like Van Heusen, Louis Philippe etc and having completed my internship in a textile industry I found out that the brand equity of such brands is very high in our country. With new investment coming in this industry, this unit of ABG is sure to be the industry leader.
