The Secret, in search of the hidden you! – InsideIIM B-School Debate

“You are the masterpiece of your own life. You are the Michelangelo of your own life. The David you are sculpturing is you. The truth is that the universe has been answering you all of your life, but you cannot receive the answers unless you are awake.” – Rhonda Byrne, The Secret

Only you can change your destiny; I believe. The Secret is about you, about me, about the world and it perfectly illustrates, why some people are more successful than the others. No doubt, the book is an international bestseller with over 19 million copies sold in 46 different languages and still counting. Not only it has been accepted widely, but also it has changed lives of many, including the one who’s writing this article. The time I read this book, almost seven years ago, I was sure that my world is going to be changed soon, and it did change for the better. The Secret is such a positive read from the beginning till the end, that you won’t expect almost anyone to criticize it with harsh words, until you’d read the below article by a very intelligent guy (may be intelligent because I saw FMS, written under his signatures); Mr. Vaibhav Anand:

It is quite clear from the title of the article what this gentleman has to say on this book, and about the charming Australian author, Rhonda Byrne. I personally liked his honesty though, when he admits that he hasn’t read any of these books yet. But the very next moment he goes on ripping the image of such book, with his perception built over the years, which is an unjustified logic in itself, I suppose. Nevertheless, The Secret told me to remain positive in life, whatsoever might be the circumstances. I follow the same, almost blindly. Almost because I’m a human being in the end and at times our decisions are more emotional than rational. But you do feel the change, when you think positive, when your thoughts write the story for you, when you are the thespian and you are the creator. The thought might sound childish to many, but the universe listens, it reacts, and it conspires in shaping your present.

The book is full of examples from all over the world, from different ages, which perfectly capture the essence of the law of attraction. Not only the law works perfectly well, but also it is easy to implement in one’s daily routine and get the best out of it. The book is in fact written with such perfection that it will drive to read you more of it and you’d be delved deep into the pages as if the words are touching your soul than your mind. No matter which generation you belong to, no matter which geography do you exist in, no matter whether you a theist or an atheist; The Secret is a must read, because it has been written for you.

I would like to conclude my case with this wonderful quote by my favorite author,

“There is a truth deep down inside of you that has been waiting for you to discover it, and that truth is this: you deserve all good things life has to offer.

Your power is in your thoughts, so stay awake. In other words, remember to remember.”
― Rhonda Byrne, The Secret
