1. GK was the pain point for me for the exam since Math and English were covered via CAT Coaching materials.
2. Took a TISSNET crash course from coaching which helped structure the GK syllabus.
An important aspect, personal opinion & experience - Consistency. Preparing once, or for a very short duration did not help me, I had to be consistent with the syllabus for over 3-4 months.
How many full-length mock tests did you take? What was your approach while taking mocks?
Around 3 only. Focused on the GK part because that had the most weightage, at the same time not compromising on English and Math since those were the scoring areas.
Which section was your Achilles heel? How did you overcome that?
General Knowledge. Detailed notes on each topic (static, dynamic and current affairs) and consistent revision of the notes.
How much time did you devote to preparation on a regular basis?
About 3-4 hours every day, I started early in the year with Quant and English, but GK was done 3-4 months prior to the exam
What according to you are 2 DO's and 2 DON'Ts of TISSNET preparation?
Do -
1. Consistent preparation
2. Try to structure the GK preparation according to how it works for you
3. Write notes, watch videos repetitively, answer GK quizzes, take help of reference Quiztopia questions prepared by ARC, refer to sample TISSNET papers/mocks.
DON'T
1. Do not slack off with GK, and don't be disheartened if you are not "a big GK person"
2. With necessary effort, anyone would be able to get through. I'm not a big GK person, but consistent preparation helped me in :)
What would be your final advice to TISSNET 2021 Aspirants?
Revise the important notes you've made for GK, if no notes then consolidated GK YouTube videos, some basic formulae for quant and don't try to stuff in way too much information at the last moment. Maintain (try) a cool head, and things will work out amazingly! :)

How did you prepare for TISSNET? According to you, what is the most important aspect of preparation?
Started early, was preparing for CAT so didn't have to worry about English and Maths sections. For GK, I referred to standard static GK book, and made it a point to stick to that book throughout the duration of my preparation. For Current Affairs, I made daily notes from newspapers for about 1 year.
Most important aspects are being selective and persistent about material selection, and revising enough to solidify content coverage.
Reading previous year TISSNET analysis helps big time.
How many full-length mock tests did you take? What was your approach while taking mocks?
None, but highly suggest taking at least 5-7 mocks. Analyze section-wise scores, further drill down section scores into topic wise scores.
Which section was your Achilles heel? How did you overcome that?
Quantitative Ability. I practised enough to develop my calculation speed. That helped me maximise my score in other sections.
How much time did you devote to preparation on a regular basis?
3-4 hours for 1.5 years
What according to you are 2 DO's and 2 DON'Ts of TISSNET preparation?
DOs
1. Revise all that you cover
2. Maintain handwritten notes for current affairs - helps in time-efficient revision.
DONTs
1. Change the material referred, in the last days of preparation.
2. Prioritising topic coverage over revision.
What would be your final advice to TISSNET 2021 Aspirants?
Never let conversion ratios faze you. Be persistent and back your efforts. Treat each selection stage, each question in its entirety. Win small battles to take the ultimate prize.

How did you prepare for TISSNET? According to you, what is the most important aspect of preparation?
Solving all the available previous year question papers, testing the level of preparation.
Analysis of all the available previous year question papers and dividing the questions into sections.
Focusing on those important sections by preparing basics for QA and current affairs for GK.
How many full-length mock tests did you take? What was your approach while taking mocks?
Less than 5. Solving as many questions as possible was the only goal as the questions are relatively easy in TISSNET and most of the non-GK part will be approachable.
Which section was your Achilles heel? How did you overcome that?
Current affairs. Did not read anything new for one week. Only revised what I read earlier that helped in recalling the answers in the exam.
What would be your final advice to TISSNET 2021 Aspirants?
- Solve a lot of simple QA questions to boost the speed, daily 10 days before the exam
- Revise repeatedly.
- Don't spend too much time on a single question
- Don't think about cut off marks before the exam

How many full-length mock tests did you take? What was your approach while taking mocks?
My preparation was divided into 3 parts: GK, Quant and VARC. As the quant, VARC are relatively easier, I did not worry much about them as I already aced them during my preparation from CAT. So my whole focus was on GK. Initially, I focused on collecting the right resource for GK and then I started sorting out things which were relevant. It took me about 1 week to get this done. But after I picked up the pace and started making notes for very important topics. This way I strategically approached my preparation and hence I could get through the entrance test with bare minimum effort.
Which section was your Achilles heel? How did you overcome that?
Since I wasn't much aware of GK I focused on it for it was the most crucial segment in the paper with 40 marks of weightage.
How much time did you devote to preparation on a regular basis?
3 hours on weekdays, on Saturday5 hours and on Sunday barely 1 hour.
What according to you are 2 DO's and 2 DON'Ts of TISSNET preparation?
DO's:- Ace GK, Be calm
Don't:- Don't rely too much on a single section and similarly don't run away from any section., Don't be hard on yourself on last week.
