Initially, I was amongst the people of my own college but with time everybody became friends as if we knew each other for a long time. Initially, we distinguished ourselves as people from different colleges but later we all were one group that was there for an internship. After 10 days within training, we all planned a trip for the upcoming long weekend. And I must say that trip was supposed to be highly planned one but later became the least planned one. In a span of 4 days, I and Aman drove from Bangalore-Coorg-Wayanad-Ooty-Bangalore covering a distance of more than 1200kms. We took tents with us from Bangalore and did camping wherever we could to stay at night. From finding a place to camp, setting up a tent, food and drinking water everything was a challenge. But with friends like these everything became a memory to cherish. This was my first trip with those crazy bunch of people and with the most adventure that I can describe for ages.
When we came back from the trip, we all were assigned different projects and were under different company mentors. I was in a project that was in the initial phase and was full of work. But the best part was that my mentor and I had similar thoughts regarding internships. He wanted me to understand the role and responsibilities of a Business Analyst in depth so that I know what I am going to in future. With that our tuning was just perfect. He made me do all different kinds of work that a business analyst would do in their course of job over the years. He made it very clear for me to understand things and asked me to join various client calls and mock calls. Initially, when the work started I was stressed about the fact that the company’s domain is Finance and I was an Analytics major. But my mentor helped me to understand that this is just the beginning. Business Analyst has to learn and understand their clients whether its Finance, Automobile or any other domain and gave me a boost of energy to keep going with work. He made sure that I am exposed to all kinds of works and at the end whether I am where I wanted to be. Then as I part of my job, I understood the company’s domain and helped them create training documents that they will use for client and customer training at the end of the project.
Not only this, but the company also provides a free will for the employees to take up the role that they wish to take and follow their passion. Every week we used to have some celebration on the terrace which used to cheer everybody up and helped everyone to de-stress themselves from work. But the best part of my whole internship was my fellow interns and my mentor who made it worth and a memorable 8 weeks.
