An Achievement shall entail a Contribution
Achievement for me is when I’ve successfully challenged myself, have overcome self-doubt and faced my fears. I met with an accident during the vacations, after my 10th class board exams. The accident was severe but I was lucky to survive. I was hospitalized and bedridden for a few months. By the time I recovered from my injuries, I had gained 14 kg of weight. I was facing challenges in daily activities and was getting sick often. That was the time I realized the importance of physical health and decided to do something about it. I started reading about different forms of exercises like cardio, calisthenics, weight training, cross-fit, Yoga, HIIT, etc. This increased my knowledge and helped me decide which form to go for. I decided to go for a mix of cardio and calisthenics. I started my routine and began to see changes in a few weeks, though the changes were a little slow. Then I read more about nutrition and realized that it was the missing link. Next, I changed my diet and soon the quantified nutrition and a right set of exercises did wonders to me. Since then, I’ve been very vocal about the importance of physical health and have convinced many people to get involved in an exercise routine and pay attention to their nutrition. After joining TCS I commuted by cycle and seldom used elevators in my office. I’d been the Regional SPOC for TCS Pune Cycling Club and helped the club by increasing the number of participants and organizing cycling events. In this journey of getting fit, this is how I contributed a little to the environment and the society.
