If you are an engineer in India, chances are that you are one of them

Case A: You probably had Computer Science in undergrad, and have a career in software. Or you are a self-taught programmer from those non-CS engineering streams, who is now an avid coder.
Case B: After your engineering, you took up roles in the business side of things - analyzing sales, planning budgets, or pitching to clients. If you have a creative bug, you must be curating marketing campaigns. Anyhow, you are building your roadmap for a managerial role, an MBA, or have entrepreneurship dreams.
Case C: You have completely different plans, are preparing for govt jobs, civil services, and others.
If you are A or B, or C you have a community to reach out to. But what if you are a 4th-year non-CS engineer who prides in being the science geek, where are all those jobs? We feel you! And if you are from a no-name school, people will tell you that you should go for another degree asap, because you won’t get the job you want. But no more. The pandemic may have taken away 120 million jobs in just a month, companies have given pay cuts, some have been furloughed and some have had their appraisals canceled. But for the COVID batch, the silver lining is that you will have far more time to upgrade yourself and employers will show more empathy. Since companies will no longer be able to carry out campus placements effectively, the dream jobs offer which is usually bagged by grads of elite schools, are also open to those outside the clique. So, go ahead and get yourself an equal footing!
