Just like any other MBA aspirant, I also dreamt of being in an IIM and so, I began preparing for
CAT and after the long selection process, finally, I landed a spot at IIM Jammu and then the first disappointment hit me - "Jammu isn't cold"; I repeat! It isn't cold, so everyone who has a misconception just like I did, get your facts right. I mean it is extremely cold in winters but it's also very hot in the summers.
Then came our first day of college which began with our orientation program. I was extremely excited! Being back at college felt amazing; everyone had their best outfits on and went for the program. It felt great at the beginning but it continued for a total of 6 days, even though there were some great speakers. We weren't used to sitting for such long straight hours. Days got really hectic - it started with a yoga session at 6 and then the orientation the whole day but at least we used to get our sleep.
Then came the next phase, the after orientation phase where we were relaxed that we had not so many classes and we will have time to enjoy that's when the next disappointment hit there were going to be nights sessions, assignments, presentations and really long case studies almost every single day that was one day and its today I haven't had a proper satisfying nap yet.
But it's fine I am happy with how things have turned out it sure did take a while but I am used to it now and actually enjoy it here.
