As the popular saying goes, “If you want to go ahead, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together.” Aditya Birla Group has taken India to new heights since the past 162 years. Being India’s third largest conglomerate, it is no surprise that we are surrounded by its product which has made people’s lives easy and comfortable. In fact, I am writing this article on a hotspot delivering Idea’s 4G, wearing a T shirt and a pair of trousers bought from a Pantaloons outlet from a mall, sitting inside a building made of Ultratech cement along with some metals of Hindalco Industries. Well my wardrobe is not just restricted to that, most of my formal outfits are from some or the other ABG’s inhouse brands like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen or Peter England. I feel safe and secured as I have my health insurance done by one of the subsidiaries of Aditya Birla Capital. As I am a student of management in India, I have plans of buying a car of my own, for which I would be relying on ABG’s lending mechanism. ABG has integrated itself with the lives of people so well that it cannot be replaced in the years to come. Apart from utilities, ABG’s presence in financial services has made a mark on India as well as on the world. Like every other aspect of life, there are ups and down in my life as well. At a very early stage of my life, I lost my father to an accident and he left us with my mother and a younger sister. I was in class 12
th and had my career lined up ahead of me. I cleared my board exams and my extended family which lived in Jaipur, started pushing us to move to Jaipur and they thought we would be unable to manage in Delhi. We moved to Jaipur, but my mother who is a yoga therapist was not able to run her business well as she used to do in Delhi. Even the quality of education was not up to the mark. Since we were always used to being self-dependent, we made a collective choice of moving back to Delhi. Every member of the family was against us and we too, did not have a concrete plan in place. But we had a hope that we will be able to manage ourselves in such a hard time and will be able to break all barriers of orthodoxy. Integrity and commitment helped us make this tough transition seamlessly. From then on, we have flourished and now I am at a stage to present this story of mine through a platform provided by ABG, to voice out my story to a wide range of audience and send out a message to each and every person in this country that, if one truly follows his or her passion, he/she can speed up the process of their growth manifolds. A clear vision with a strong value and belief system can make all the difference. We, the leaders of tomorrow, will make this Earth a better place to live.
