Life is incomplete without hurdles. During challenging times, our real "Character" comes through. One of my greatest achievements came at a time when I was absolutely down and out. I started playing Cricket when I was 7. The first major breakthrough came my way when I was 14. I was selected for the training camp of the Vidarbha cricket association. But, just before the most awaited selection trials, I suffered a back injury. I informed my coaches and they advised me to take a drop that season. I was dejected. My efforts kind of went in vain. In fact, I locked myself up and cried. Fast forward 2 years later, I was selected for the camp again. This time, I took a decision. I told myself "Whatever happens, I will represent VCA this season." I was determined. During the 1st selection trial match, I scored 145* but suffered a thumb injury. I came back to my room after the match and looked at my thumb. It was bruised. But I had decided to play with the injury. After the match, people asked me how I could manage to play with such an injury. I didn't have an answer back then. But I probably have now.
Playing cricket has taught me a lot about handling challenges. We don't realize what we are capable of until we are challenged. Challenges and hurdles are not obstacles in your path. They are the guiding lights that tell you that you are on the right path. This experience made me realize my potential in taking the challenges head-on.
So, never back off from any challenge. We might not succeed. But we surely become an ounce tougher. That's the real success that makes what we are.
The impact that ABG has had on me
If there is any aggregate in India that can gladly profess to have seen all the significant discouragements, retreats, and has effectively figured out how to stand the trial of time, it is the Aditya Birla Group (ABG). Having begun with a small cotton exchanging business path in 1857, the sort of advancement it has made is marvelous on numerous levels.
Right from the word go, I've been associated with it for quite a while now in a some or the other way. The main reason behind it being the umpteen number of brands they offer which cook not exclusively to any particular income segment. Additionally, they also cater to the wide range of requirements. In this regard, it is ideal to mention that ABFRL is playing a big part through their fine formal apparel as I pursue MBA from one of the best SCM/Ops B-schools.
Also, being a client of Vodafone Idea Limited, once in the past Idea Cellular, I can vouch for it on any given day. Indeed, even before the forceful offer to cut costs started, the services given were unparalleled on the grounds that the utility that the customers got from it was at standard with the sum spent, if not more. Likewise, though I have limited affiliation with it, while traveling, the Birla Carbon used in various conveyor belts has touched the lives of millions and will continue to do so for a long time to come. Lastly, with the launch of Aditya Birla Payments Bank (APBP), and with the sort of interesting activities like 'Portable number as financial balance number', it is certain to disturb this space which has a huge lump of millennials utilizing it, including me!
