“The ability to build such coherence among its employees just shows the amount of respect that ABG, as a company, has towards its employees…”, says Abhilasha Gupta who is the Brand Manager for Vodafone-Idea for Maharashtra & Goa. From the long alleys of XIMB to managing a brand that needs no introduction, Vodafone Idea Ltd (Aditya Birla Group), the journey of Abhilasha Gupta has been arduous and fast-paced but nevertheless interesting and inspiring. In this interview she tells us about why ABG is big in her life, emphasizing on the blend between the company’s mission and goals and her personal goals and the reason she has been with ABG for almost 6 years now.  XIMB: So Ma'am, my first question to you would be that what makes you wake up and go to work every morning? In other words, what do you find most interesting about this job? Ms. Abhilasha: The current job profile that I am having in Aditya Birla Group is probably that one thing that excites me the most. I am currently the brand manager of Vodafone Idea Ltd. for Maharashtra and Goa. I have always been looking for such an exciting profile. This job role helps me experience something new every day and gives me a chance to be creative. The work is cross-functional and it gives me many reasons to thoroughly enjoy my work. XIMB: It's great to hear that you are having a job role which you always wanted Ma'am. This intrigues me to ask you that how the mission and goals of ABG as a company align with your personal goals? Ms. Abhilasha: Aditya Birla Group strives for Integrity, Passion, and Dedication. These, according to me are certainly values which everyone wants to achieve in their own life. These attributes are also vital in day to day activity and work life. We cannot compromise on integrity or our work ethics. Without passion, I will not feel like waking up every morning and going to work and neither will I be able to excel in my personal as well as professional life. I, for sure, connect to these values and I believe anyone and everyone looks forward to imbibing these aspects in their persona. XIMB: Thank you, ma'am, for such an insightful answer. This brings me to my next question. You have been working with Aditya Birla Group for almost 6 years now. What made you stick with ABG for so long? Ms. Abhilasha: Aditya Birla Group is an extremely employee-friendly organization. The biggest example that I have to give is the large family that we have been able to create after the merger of the two largest telecom giants in the country. All the employees treat each other with immense respect irrespective of any factors as such. The ability to build such coherence among its employees just shows the amount of respect that ABG, as a company, has towards its employees. Also, ABG helped me a lot in moving to my desired location when I needed to do so for my family. Such acts of taking care of the preferences of the employees and aligning with their ambitions to give the best fit solution goes a long way to show ABG’s commitment towards its employees. XIMB: It feels nice to learn about such warmth in a company's culture. I would just like to ask you one last question, Ma'am. What does ABG symbolize to you? Ms.Abhilasha: ABG has been the first company with which I had associated myself and it has been an important part of my life since the beginning of my career. The first employer always holds a very special place in our life and ABG for me is no deviation from that. To me, ABG symbolizes opportunities, for all the opportunities that I have been bestowed with as an employee of this company. I hope I could answer your question. XIMB: Thank you so much for your time, Ma'am. It was indeed a pleasure to speak to you. Have a nice day! Ms. Abhilasha: Thank you!
