Part A: Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life? Aditya Birla Group is one of the largest conglomerates in India. We have all been exposed to various products and services of the brand at different stages of our life. It is surprising how Aditya Birla Group has penetrated to such a great extent on the lifestyle of its customers, its shareholders, its employees and the Indian society at large. Like with every other Indian, Aditya Birla has been very successful in extending its reach to the core of my life. Today, reminiscing of the past, I remember my school days when my mother used to prepare food for my tiffin. Every day she used to make sure the food is wrapped in shiny film of aluminium foil coming from a roll of Freshwrapp so that the food remains fresh and healthy.  I also have a fond memory of owning my first mobile handset and then making countless calls in a day with the Vodafone Idea telecom services. Growing up, I developed a keen interest in branded clothes and apparels. Strolling in a marketplace, Allen Solly and Van Heusen were the brand that used to amaze me with their impeccable design and quality. As I began reading and learning more about the Aditya Birla Group, I got to know about its deep presence in cement, chemical, fertilizers, metal, insurance and other industries as well. I began realizing that the buildings I used to frequently visit were made of UltraTech Cement, the mutual funds where my father used to frequently invest were a part of ABG as well. All in all, the more I learn about this group, the more I realised how influential ABG has been in my life.

Part B: How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions  I have always been a strong proponent of the fact the challenges in life are one thing that keeps an individual going. While facing some challenges at every stage of our life in inevitable, what defines us is whether we decide to succumb to those challenges or to face them and eventually overcome those with all our hard work and dedication. Looking back, one of the major challenges that I have faced in my life so far was during my CAT examination preparation days. As I wasn’t satisfied with the job offers that were given to me after completing my engineering, preparing for MBA entrance examinations was the only option left with me at that point of time and so I was determined and was putting a lot of efforts for cracking the MBA entrance exam. However, as destiny would have it, exactly a month before the exam my health started deteriorating. After consulting the doctor, I discovered I was suffering from jaundice. What followed were the days of suffering where I couldn’t even manage to get out of bed, forget preparing for the examinations. However, with the constant support of my family and my efforts to strictly follow the doctor’s guidelines, I recovered within a week. I performed to the best of my abilities and managed to get a decent score and an admission into one of the premier B-schools of the country. Through this experience of mine, I can say that being challenged at any point of in life is inevitable. However, these challenges can also help immensely in discovering the innate strengths of an individual.
