Aditya Birla Group is the third largest group in India in terms of market valuation. This group has touched millions of lives in India through its diversified product portfolio. Millions of people across India use its quality products and services without even recognizing the fact that these products belong to ABG. Probably, I was also one of them, who didn’t have an idea about this group, but still I was using its products in my daily life. But, when I used Idea (one of its biggest products!!), I got the idea (Idea gave me an idea!!) about this group. The Idea sim card was issued to me by organization back in 2016. Using Idea has been really a great experience since that day. Its network connectivity is the factor which differentiates it from the other telecom providers. The speed of 4G network is incomparable and best part is that, it’s 4G connectivity is almost ubiquitous. I clearly remember that day, when me and my cousins went to attend a ceremony in a place, which was far from the urban area. To my surprise, it was only me, who could enjoy a cricket match, and that too in HD quality due to idea’s immensely strong network. So much fascination I built towards Idea that, I didn’t surrender my sim card when I left my organizing and I’m using it till date. Another big association that I have with ABG is through Ultratech cement. Growing up, I saw many renovations of my house. But each of these renovations had one thing in common. Yes, you guessed it right. It was the Ultratech Cement. Every time, my father insisted the contractors to bring Ultratech cement. When I asked him the reason for it, he used to explain me about the quality standards that company employs in its cement for the safety of its customers. So, every room of my house is made of Ultratech cement. In this sense I can say that I live with Aditya Birla Group every day!! This is the level of significance that ABG has on my life, and it’s not just me, perhaps there are millions of others, who are connected with this group directly or indirectly.

The Challenges that I faced and how I overcame it

Every time whenever there is a transition in my life, I face a lot of challenges. One of the biggest challenges that I faced, was during my transition from college life to the corporate life. I joined Tata Motors as an assistant manager in 2016, after passing out from LD college of Engineering, Ahmedabad. I was excited to be the part of India’s largest automaker company and but, I was oblivious to the setbacks that I was about to face in future. After the induction period of one and a half months, I was given the role in maintenance department in engine shop. During my initial few months, I struggled a lot to perform well in this department. As an assistant manager, I was having good amount of expectation from my superiors. But somehow, I couldn’t able to deliver the same. There were several reasons for that. One of the biggest reasons was due to the lack of industrial knowledge. I had adequate theoretical knowledge but didn’t have the knowledge to apply that practically. Also, being from mechanical engineering background, I found automation related knowledge very difficult. These expectations I needed to fulfil in very short amount of time and because of this, I became so anxious that I was about to quit my job. But one thing that kept me going was my sheer perseverance. I started learning the concepts related to automation online and built good relations with the workmen. After doing this, I found the automation very fascinating and learnt many PLC software to implement various projects. After a few months, I was able to manage entire shift single-handedly, solving breakdowns with the help of my team. Due to this, I was also given the position of shift manager. With this, I became a valuable asset of the maintenance department. I had never thought that I would be able to accomplish these many achievements. One of the biggest lessons that I learnt during this experience is that never lose hope. When conditions are unfavorable to you, have patience and self-confidence. If you have these strengths, no matter what adverse conditions you might have, you will succeed.
