Aditya Birla Group is an Indian
multinational
conglomerate, headquartered in Worli, Mumbai, India. It was founded by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla in 1857. The company deals in products like viscose staple fibre, metals, cement (largest in India), viscose filament yarn, branded apparel, carbon black, chemicals, fertilisers, insulators, financial services, telecom, BPO and IT services. The Group's cement business was earlier under Grasim Industries and UltraTech Cement. The two entities have now been merged into UltraTech Cement to form India's largest cement company. UltraTech Cement was acquired from L&T in 2004. The Group's non-ferrous metals' business is under Hindalco Industries. Hindalco makes alumina chemicals, primary aluminium, rolled products, alloy wheels, roofing sheets, wire rods, cast copper rods, copper cathodes and several other products. The Aditya Birla Group is the world's largest producer of Viscose staple fibre. Apart from viscose staple fibre, the group also owns acrylic fibre business in Thailand, viscose filament yarn businesses and spinning mills in India and South East Asia. Aditya Birla Group sells in-house and other branded apparel via brick-and-mortar and online stores. The group's firm Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd sells in-house brands such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England and People via their individual brand stores and through other multi brand outlets. Idea Cellular was started as a joint venture with the AT&T and the Tata Group. Having a strong presence across the life insurance, asset management, lending (excluding Housing), housing finance, equity & commodity broking, wealth management and distribution, online money management portal—Aditya Birla Money MyUniverse, general insurance advisory and private equity and health insurance businesses.

Impact of Company’s products in my life? I have been wearing apparels of ABG brands since the longest time, and I am impressed every time by the quality and style it offers. Among the spectrum of brands, I have few favourites like Allen Solly, Van Heusen which satisfies my diverse choice of style, every time I step out to shop. Also, the spectacular quality of fabric that the brands offer, makes me feel special. The effort ABFRL brands make in forecasting consumer trends by predicting and analysing information regarding colours, fabrics, silhouettes, styles, etc impresses me a lot. This helps them to bring us the trending clothes and sense of style. Particularly the young generation like me, who are perplexed about their style choices and wants to follow the trends that goes around, ABFRL is a bliss. Also, a significant impact ABFRL has created is the great penetration the brand outlets have in tier – 2,3 cities. There is a large population in small cities and the affordability of clothes of the brands, helps them to be at par with the fashion and style of the population of metropolitan cities. Now, ABFRL has revamped its e-commerce websites and made our life more convenient. People can get their desired clothes just by click of few buttons and this has enhanced the reach of ABFRL brands. ABG has massive presence in the lives of people, and my case is nothing different. Particularly, it’s unit of fashion and retail has influenced my life to a large extent.
