Amar Rastogi’s journey is a testament to his ability to blend technical expertise with leadership and a passion for ethical decision-making. With a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering and four years of professional experience as a Network Engineer at GAP Inc., Amar has honed analytical and problem-solving skills critical in navigating complex projects. His work, such as retiring outdated network gear to save the company over ₹4-5 crores, reflects his strategic mindset and ability to drive impactful outcomes under high-pressure scenarios. Amar’s leadership journey began as President of the VIT Student Chapter (ISOI), where he led a team of 80 members to organize over 20 successful events, including the flagship "National Level Select Makeathon." This role not only sharpened his management skills but also instilled in him the value of empathy, resilience, and teamwork. His integrity was tested during this tenure, where he chose ethical practices over short-term gains, reinforcing his commitment to values-driven leadership. Amar’s commitment to continuous learning is evident in his Cisco CCNA certification, achieved while balancing a demanding job, and his success at the Siemens Healthineers National Ideathon, where his team developed innovative healthcare solutions. These experiences shaped his ability to solve real-world problems creatively and collaboratively. At GAP Inc., Amar led the installation of Meraki access points across 400+ stores, delivering the project ahead of schedule and within budget. His meticulous planning, effective communication, and focus on quality assurance ensured consistent network performance, directly improving customer experience. When personal and professional challenges intersected during his CAT preparation, Amar demonstrated resilience and adaptability. Despite initial setbacks, he re-strategized, focused on his long-term goals, and secured admission to IIM Shillong. His ability to compartmentalize, supported by mindfulness and strong familial bonds, showcases his determination and emotional intelligence. Amar’s involvement in sustainability initiatives, like the Green Revolution Program, highlights his commitment to creating a positive societal impact. His leadership in the "Plant a Seed" campaign exemplifies his ability to mobilize communities for meaningful change, driven by a selfless vision for a better tomorrow. With a foundation built on technical acumen, ethical leadership, and a passion for continuous growth, Amar brings a unique perspective to IIM Shillong. His journey reflects his dedication to solving complex challenges while upholding integrity, collaboration, and innovation at every step.
