As I pass through the 5.6km beautiful Bandra Worli Sea link in Mumbai I am amazed by its beauty, its architecture and the fact that how it has eased the commute between Worli and the suburbs of Bandra. This magnificent marvel was made possible by using 0.1 million mt of UltraTech Cement, which is among the world’s top 10 makers of cement, owned by Aditya Birla Group.
In all walks of life everyone needs a companion, a confidant who can help him/her when required, can contribute to his/her growth and on which he/she can rely. Since the time I have acknowledged that I can look good if I dress well I have been shopping from Pantaloons and Planet fashion that showcase a lot of brands to choose from. The suit I wore for my interview for IIM Trichy has a tag of Allen Solly. So, I can assume the AB group has played a part in my journey to get selected in India’s one of the most prestigious business schools. Nelson Mandela said “A winner is a dreamer who never gives up” and this has been my mantra for a long time now.
Earlier in my childhood days, I never looked at my goals seriously and lacked intent. Because of this, I have failed to achieve what I wanted to at various times. But, eventually, I understood that I cannot attain success and excel in any sphere of life if I keep acting in the ignorant manner I have been doing earlier. I have now imbibed in me a never give up attitude and qualities like self-motivation and perseverance. I look at every goal as if it is my last one and work with all the zeal and energy I have.
I have faced a lot of hurdles while pursuing dance which has been my passion from my school days. If I would have given up on this I would not have performed ever on stage, led my college’s dance team, won awards and certificates and probably would have been heart-broken my entire life on one more failure of giving up my passion. I gave auditions in school and college and got selected in the dance teams. I participated in a lot of inter-college competitions that has been an enriching journey for me.
Another challenge I have faced was to manage my time and resources when I was preparing for my MBA entrance exams. I was working in an IT company where I worked as a web developer and had to meet strict deadlines and coordinate in a team to meet customer’s requirements. I didn’t always get much time to study and rest my body after office. But I ensured that whatever time I can get I will make the maximum use of it. I made a schedule and tried to follow it every day with a little amount of sleep. I wanted to get into an IIM, and I feel my consistency and perseverance even after a busy schedule has allowed me to achieve it.
