“Why MBA?” is a question most MBA aspirants prepare for at least once. The answer to this question is, in fact, your shortcut to understanding your own career choices too! And while we are at it, let’s take a moment to speak about the practice of internships that b-school students must go through. This rite of passage though, is slightly different for SPJIMR students. SPJIMR students don’t go through summer internships, but instead they have something called autumn internships. This means, SPJIMR – PGDM students intern with top companies at the end of the third semester (Autumn/ Fall) and not at the end of the first year (Summer.) As a direct result, PPO and PPI offers have consistently been more than 40 % over the years. Intrigued? Check out what a fellow SPJIMR student has to say about autumn internships in this video… SPJIMR PGDM Program - Click Here To Apply Now
Summary of the video: Meet Chetan, a current SPJIMR student. Chetan talks about his SPJIMR experience, touching upon everything from mentoring a child from the lesser privileged sections of society, to working at the grassroots at villages in Haryana. In this video, Chetan talks about the million dollar question - why MBA? He talks about the MBA experience as a whole, placements, projects, internships, opportunities, all bundled into a powerful package at SPJIMR. He takes us through the winding lanes of b-school life, and talks about feeling left out when friends and colleagues seem to be working and interning at interesting organisations. Finally, he talks about participating in the autumn internship placement at SPJIMR. He shares how the autumn internships make a lot of sense, because not only are students better prepared, but they also know what domain they would like to specialise in. As these autumn placements happen post the third semester at SPJIMR, instead of the traditional summer internships, students have usually decided on a major by then. Holistically, the autumn internships help SPJIMR students to leverage concepts learnt during b-school with more precision. They also get more specific opportunities and streamlined projects to work on. Overall, this gives SPJIMR students a strong grounding in theory as well as application, helping them score when it comes to PPOs and PPIs. Key Takeaways: *This is a promoted feature.
