The factors like immense success of various sports leagues and rising interest of corporate sectors and film fraternity in the business of sports is contributing to the shift in the demand-supply ratio when it comes to professionals with appropriate knowledge in sports management. Thus, the less explored career scope in sports management domain will be the most growing segment in the coming years in Indian management education. Citing this gap in the industry, Indian Institute of Management Rohtak grabbed this opportunity to introduce the Post Graduate Programme in Sports Management in 2018, where it became the first IIM to train professionals for the many sports management career options like as sports event manager, sports marketing manager, sports agents, sports talent managers Sports analysts, media and communication managers, among others available in the Indian sports industry today.
IIM Rohtak is inviting application for the sixth batch of Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management. How to Apply:
To be eligible to apply for the third batch of 2 year Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management (ePGDSM Batch 06 – 2023-25), one must hold a bachelor’s degree (in any discipline) and must be able to demonstrate an interest in sports. Work experience in relevant field will be an added advantage.
The online registrations started on 18
th April 2023 and the last date to register or the programme is 18

The participants of ePGDSM programme will have an opportunity to pursue MSc in Sports Management from Ulster University, UK on successful completion of EPGDSM programme. Apart from one 60 creidt Sports Consultancy Project (to be covered over the duration of approx.. 5 months), all the courses of EPGDSM programme will be considered equivalent to the minimum credit requirement for the award of degree of MSc with Ulster University.
IIM Rohtak has also collaborated with eminent faculty specialised in sports management domain from international universities like University of San Francisco, Ulster University (UK), Leeds Becket University (UK), Zurich University (Switzerland), University do Porto (Portugal), British Columbia Institute (Canada), University of New Haven (US), and University of Helsinki (Finland). Distinguished stalwarts from sports industry like Ayaz Memon, Neeraj Kumar, Jeev Milkha Singh, Rishi Narain, and Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi among others are also providing their expert guidance and are academic advisors to the programme.
The participants from the previous batches of ePGDSM have national and international level participation in various sports field (Cricket, Badminton, Basketball, Tennis, and more). They had taken up intern assignments in various sporting events (BWF Super Series event, AFC Cup 2019, Chennaiyin FC (ISL Football Championship), POKKT, BWF Super Series event and many others)
