Part B
It took me three attempts to crack CAT and get a seat in reputed B-School. As far as the first attempt is concerned, I was still graduating and I didn’t take the exam too seriously as I was already placed in a company. I was just trying to give it a shot and be aware of how the pattern of exam would be. I couldn’t even prepare a week for the exam as I was completely occupied in the final year project work and exams. I acquired 70 percentile and I didn’t repent much for that as I didn’t put in my efforts to study for exam.
I attempted for the second time after my one year of work experience and this time I had spent time in the preparation but the lack of study for about one year resisted me from preparing for the exam rigorously and in turn I was distracted by the frequent usage of phone for social media, mobile games, watching cricket and movies. I had appeared for exam and I scored 83 percentile which denied me in getting a seat from good B-School.
For the third time when I applied for CAT, I knew the challenges I had to face in the course of my preparation and overcame them by uninstalling all the social media and gaming apps from the phone and resisting myself spending as less time as possible on smartphone. This helped me in concentrating on my preparation for exam. I scored well this time and was able to get an admission into a good B-School.
