BITSoM has recorded a remarkable achievement in its founding year of placements, with an average CTC of INR 23.85 lakh per annum and the highest CTC at INR 50.10 lakh. Prominent recruiters such as McKinsey & Co, Bain & Co, AD Little, Kearney, Hindustan Unilever, JP Morgan Chase, and BP took part in the placement process, amongst other recruiters. In this article, we bring to you the key highlights of BITSoM placements 2023!
The top 10 percent of the class have achieved an average CTC of INR 37.02 lakh per annum.
For the top 30 percent, the average CTC is INR 30.42 lakh, while the top half of the class has an average CTC of INR 28.17 lakh.
The average CTC for the entire batch stood at INR 23.85 lakhs, while the highest salary offered was INR 50.1 lakhs.
Additionally, the median CTC is INR 23 lakhs.
These statistics include 37 students who accepted pre-placement offers.
Students with prior full-time work experience, who had declared their last drawn Pre-MBA salaries at an average of INR 7.34 lakhs, were placed with an average post-MBA CTC of INR 20.81 lakh per annum.
Do note that a few students are still in the placement process. However, averages aren’t likely to deviate significantly, especially the stats for the top 50% and higher segments.
BITSoM Placements 2023 - How Has The Institute Fared Vis-à-vis Top B-Schools?
With an average salary of INR.23.85 LPA, BITSoM’s placements in 2023 are at par with some of the top B-Schools, and in many cases, better than a few of the creme-de-creme B-Schools as well. Key Consulting firms have participated in the recruitment process, with McKinsey & Co., Bain & Co., Kearney, Arthur D Little, Praxis Consulting, EY, PwC, KPMG, Deloitte India, and MXV Consulting offering positions in management consulting, tech consulting, human capital consulting, and deals and M&A.Apart from consulting, BITSoM's MBA students have also attracted offers from marquee employers in the BFSI sector, including JP Morgan Chase (investment banking), Cervin Ventures (venture capital), Eight Capital (private equity), Aditya Birla Capital, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, and FlexiLoans. These companies have offered roles in various domains such as investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, and risk management.Leading companies in the FMCG, retail, and e-commerce space have also hired BITSoM's MBA students for their flagship management trainee programs. The founding batch of BITSoM has a healthy gender diversity with female candidates forming 35% of the batch. The batch also has Freshers, as well as professionals with more than 4 years of pre-MBA professional experience. Of the 138 students, 67% of students have studied Engineering as their undergraduate discipline.
