Must Read Books To Read For MBA Aspirants

  1. We are like that only. Understanding the logic of Consumer India
    This book by Rama Bijapurkar is an excellent read to understand how to win the Indian consumers and the Indian market. A graduate from IIM Ahmedabad she has worked as an independent consultant and her understanding of the Indian consumers is very well articulated in the book.
  2. Connect the Dots
    This book talks about 20 entrepreneurs who made it big without the ‘MBA tag’. Having sold over 1,00,000 copies, the book revolves around ‘Jugaad, Junoon, and Zubaan’. Authored by Rashmi Bansal, the book promises an extremely inspiring read.
  3. The Case of the Bonsai Manager
    Authored by Tata Group veteran Mr. R Gopalakrishnan, the book talks about managers why some managers are not able to achieve their full potential and climb the corporate ladder. The author draws upon various instances and anecdotes from his life to put across his point in a lucid manner. It has some life-changing leadership lessons narrated crisply.
  4. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
    This self-help book published in the year 1988 by Stephen R Covey is a must read for anyone looking for self-improvement. The 7 habits it talks about are – Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood, Synergize and Sharpen the Saw. The book has sold over 25 million copies across the globe.
  5. Who Moved My Cheese
    Published in 1998, the book describes changes in one’s work and life and four reactions to those changes by two mice and two ‘little people’ during their hunt for cheese. This book has the distinction of being the New York Times Bestseller for almost five years in a row. As future managers who would change bosses, jobs and work in different locations, this book promises to be an enlightening read.
