IIM Trichy is now eight years old. Yes, this institute is still young but this is one institute that is growing strong. The journey till now has been awe-inspiring, with just 8 years behind us, the institute has become one of the best places to enter the world of business. Yes, the IIMs are seen from its inception in 1960s as the gateway to success to brilliant young professionals in India and IIM Trichy has marked its presence in the coveted list of top business schools in the country.
The first thing that anyone who has been here since last year will remember will be the campus. The campus is a little far from the city but the state of the art facilities in the 170 acres plot more than makes up for its remoteness. It is now one of the largest among the IIMs. The infrastructure coupled with all the ultra-modern facilities both inside classrooms and in hostels makes it the best place to study and even to visit for that matter (if you don’t mind the weather).
Learning in an IIM can happen from a plethora of sources. The abundance of knowledge in the learning resource (LRC) center is something that one will notice in the institute. The LRC is built to stand out in the middle of the campus with its architectural elegance. The faculty in IIM Trichy is also very resourceful and are ready to pitch in anytime for the knowledge enhancement of each student. The experience of sitting in the state of the art classroom listening to a lecture can make a world of difference to those who seek knowledge in various management concepts.
Apart from the academic IIM Trichy also facilitates the overall development of the individual through the different initiatives one of which is the Make A Difference (MAD) project. Through this program, the management urges the student to be a part of the community and emphasizes the need to give back to the society. This is in line with the institute's mission of taking part in the development of Trichy city which the college does through many programs such as the CII City meet the institute along with Trade body Confederation of Indian Industry has agreed to work on making the city a hub for industrial investment.
Along with this the students here are diverse in culture, gender and heritage but celebrates each culture with pride in the many festivals and cultural programs which makes life at IIM Trichy. The annual business cum cultural festival of IIM Trichy Dhruva is also one of the among the b-school events wherein students from all over India take part. These extracurricular activities help to reduce the rigour of an MBA and provides an opportunity to showcase the skills of the students in various avenues all the while
making the IIM experience one cherish for a lifetime.
