Vaishnavi Bharti, a student of MBA (HRD) Batch of 2019, Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics, shares her experience about how her life has been in the one month she has spent on the campus. 20th July ’17, amidst the drizzle with big dreams and full of excitement, I made my way inside the calm and serene campus. Never had I expected that the hustle of management world will reside in the lap of such a poised environment. The smiling and confident faces in the black business suits and the positive vibes in the air were acting as a GPS for me towards my temple of learning for the next two years, Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics. Day one kick started our induction programme, where our HOD Dr. Kavita Sharma, along with the eminent professors of our Institute addressed the new batch of 2017-19. The more I came to know about the college, the more I felt blessed to be a part of one of the finest HR management courses in the country. During the ice breaking session, I came to know about my fellow classmates who were from a diverse background. Writers, National level swimmers, Zonal Cricket players, National Level Basketball players, NGO workers, Drummers, Guitarists, Software developers, Entrepreneurs, this was the kind of crowd in between whom I was sitting with mesmerised eyes looking at the richness and diversity of my fellow batch mates. The best part of the MBA program here at DSE is its peer to peer learning experience thanks to a small, closely knit batch of students. The curriculum itself has a lot to offer from simple functions of management to HR analytics. The pedagogy is in sync with the latest trend in the HR industry and framed in such a manner that the students are industry ready as soon as they are out of the campus. Ratan Tata Library is one of the most sought out places for students not just from DSE but from all other DU colleges as well. It has a large and diverse range of books offering all the required learning material to the students for their study and research purposes. Any student can easily track a book by simply entering the author’s name or the book’s name in the computer room. Coming to my favourite place in the college, JP Tea stall, the place where we laugh, we cry and share the stress of deadlines for various assignment submissions. It all vanishes with just one sip of masala coke. Came here as a pupa, wish to fly out as a radiant butterfly. Although it has been just one month, it still feels like Day one.
