My campus Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi is unique in the sense that it caters to various facilities such as organizing guest lectures, availability of basketball court, performing events/seminars etc. despite being small in size and full of constraints. The size factor makes every MBA student over here to practically have the exposure of the theory of constraints that are taught to us in economics subject and help us prepare to be an economically viable future leader. Besides, I really appreciate the fact that my campus has started receiving the new batch on international yoga day for two years now. My first day on campus started with a yoga session that helped me channelize new energy and taught me a key lesson that daily yoga practice would make one fit and improve her concentration. Additionally, the legacy of my campus and the quality of being one of the oldest management campuses of our country motivate us to be rooted to our past while building the future aspirations.

A memorable classroom experience in my B-school

One of the memorable classroom experience that I have over here at FMS Delhi is the organization of the Musicals at the end of induction period. Before the actual event, all my batchmates were grouped in 11-member team and we were provided 1.5 hour of practice session two days before the event and 45 minutes practice time just before the event. Never in my life, I went on stage with such a short duration of preparation time. Although my team had discussed the theme on which we would be presenting our musicals, we were unprepared on the dialog content and delivery even during the day of the event. In 45 minutes of time, we all prepared our dialogue and practised twice in a very chaotic way. I along with 3 other members were to appear in the first scene and as the practice session of 45 minutes started, we were sure that we are going to bore the audience. However, once we entered the event arena and did CAT exam day scene, everyone started laughing and that moment boosted our confidence and we successfully sailed through the entire event, & the most important thing happened later on when we were declared a winner out of total 18 teams participating in the event.

Introducing - some of my crazy batchmates

  1. Utsav Poddar:

He is a kind of crazy batchmate. He was in my team in The Musicals event and the way he played his role was brilliant. He was even declared best Actor of the batch. His comic timing and dialogue delivery are very fine and to the apt, which makes the audience to go crazy.

He is a computer science engineer from IIITDM Jabalpur. His hometown is Lucknow and his hobbies are reading non-fiction, playing TT and Basketball.

  1. Ritu Tomar:

She is a crazy dancer of my batch. Although she was not able to display her talent during the Musicals, she was later called on to show some of her dancing skills. Her dance moves are really unique and her dancing style captures everyone.

  1. Shanky Garg:

He is a crazy mimic artist. His mimic timing and the typical punchlines make the audience laugh out loud. He was able to mimic most of the MSA seniors without failing and typical punch liner that he delivers make an audience go crazy.

  1. Shruti Garg:

She is an excellent flute player. There is a kind of softness and sweetness when she plays her flute. She has played flute twice in the class and the kind of effect her flute sound makes is inexplicable.

Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?

I want to work in PT Indo Liberty Textiles, Indonesia because I have the capability to drive huge projects as I was handling the purchase of forged axle parts having annual purchase value of Rs 120 Crs. in my previous organization. During my previous work experience, I used to negotiate with suppliers to settle the subject part prices besides managing different stakeholders to complete the project within stipulated timeline. I believe this experience will help me to manage various stakeholders at PT Indo Liberty Textiles and settle the deal by negotiating effectively. Besides, I want to learn the know-how of the fabrics and the operations of textile industries.
