In VA, 5 to 6 attempts with high accuracy were possible. Overall, the section was Medium. An attempt of 16 to 18 questions with an accuracy of approximately 70% will be a good performance in VARC.
Slot 3 DILR Analysis:
The Level of difficulty of the CAT 2023 Slot 3 DILR section was Medium to Difficult. The level of difficulty of this section was similar to the DILR Section of Slot 1 of CAT 2023. Overall, an attempt of 9 to 11 questions with an accuracy of approximately 75-80% will be a good performance.
Slot 3 QA Analysis:
The CAT 2023 Slot 3 QA section was slightly tougher in terms of level of difficulty compared to the CAT 2023 Slot 1 QA. Overall, an attempt of 9 to 11 questions with an accuracy of approximately 75-80% will be a good performance.

CAT 2023 Slot 3 Detailed Analysis By Career Launcher
CAT 2023 slot 3 was tougher than CAT 2022 and CAT 2023 slot 1. The Quantitative Aptitude (QA) section in slot 3 was harder than in slot 1. Here's a breakdown: In the Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section, slot 3 was tougher than slots 1 and 2, but still easier than CAT 2022. The Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) section stayed equally tough in all three slots. For QA, slot 3 was more challenging compared to the first two slots.

Slot 3 VARC Analysis:
In line with the VARC pattern observed in both Slot 1 and Slot 2, participants faced the challenge of tackling a total of 24 questions within a 40-minute timeframe. Notably, Slot 3 presented a higher level of difficulty compared to its predecessors. Additionally, within this section, candidates encountered 4 Non-MCQs or TITA questions. The Reading Comprehension passages varied in length, ranging from approximately 400 to 450 words each. It's worth noting that unlike Slot 2, there were no mandatory questions in this particular slot.
Slot 3 DILR Analysis:
CAT 2023 Slot 3 DILR was similar to DILR of Slot 2 and Slot 1 in terms of difficulty level. The DILR section had 20 questions distributed across 4 sets with 5 questions each.
Slot 3 QA Analysis:
In CAT 2023 Slot 3, the QA questions were a bit trickier than in Slot 2. Just like in Slot 1 and Slot 2, the Slot 3 QA section mostly focused on Arithmetic and Algebra, keeping things pretty consistent throughout.

CAT 2023 Slot 2 Detailed Analysis By IMS
The setup of CAT 2023 Slot 2 pretty much mirrored what we had in 2022, with a total of 66 questions. However, there were a few tweaks in the DILR and Verbal sections—some changes in how they were divided up and the mix of MCQs and TITA. Now, when it comes to Verbal, there's a slight shift in segmentation. The Odd Sentence Questions made a comeback after taking a break in 2021. In the VA Section, we had 2 questions each for Summary, Paragraph Jumbles, Paragraph Completion, and Odd Sentence questions.

Slot 2 VARC Analysis:
In the VARC section, there were 16 Reading Comprehension questions and 8 Verbal Ability questions. One of the Verbal Ability questions was new—it had an alert icon, indicating it was a must-answer. In VA, 6 or 7 attempts with high accuracy were possible. n attempt of 17 to 19 questions with an accuracy of approximately 70% will be a good performance in VARC. Overall, the section was on the easy side.
Slot 2 DILR Analysis:
The difficulty level of the CAT 2023 Slot 2 section ranged from Medium to Difficult. The overall level of difficulty in this section is similar to the DILR Section of Slot 1 in the CAT 2023 exam. Overall, an attempt of 10 to 12 questions with an accuracy of approximately 75-80% will be a good performance.
Slot 2 QA Analysis:
CAT 2023 Slot 2 QA section was slightly tougher in terms of level of difficulty compared to CAT 2023 Slot 1 QA and was dominated by Algebra, followed by Arithmetic. Overall, an attempt of 9 to 11 questions with accuracy of approximately 75-80% will be a good performance.

Slot 2 VARC Analysis:
In CAT 2023 Slot 2, aspirants were required to attempt a mandatory VA question. The overall difficulty level of CAT 2023 Slot 2 was comparable to that of Slot 1, and it was found to be easier than CAT 2022 overall.
Slot 2 DILR Analysis:
In CAT 2023 Slot 2, the section was similar to CAT 2023 Slot 1 and CAT 2022. The DILR part had 4 sets, each with 5 questions, just like Slot 1. The difficulty level was medium to difficult. Two sets were doable, and aspirants could aim to attempt 8-9 questions
Slot 2 QA Analysis:
The QA section in CAT 2023 Slot 2 was more difficult as compared to CAT 2022, but it wasn't too far off as compared to CAT 2023 Slot 1. Out of the 22 questions, aspirants are expected to solve about 9-10 of them. What stood out were the 7 non-MCQs or TITA questions in this section. Just like in Slot 1, Arithmetic took the spotlight in Slot 2's QA section, closely shadowed by Algebra.

The CAT 2023 Slot 1 structure stayed mostly like 2022, having a total of 66 questions. The RC passages were mostly easy, except for the one about Modern Materialism. You could try about 12 RC questions with high accuracy. In VA, you could make 6 or 7 attempts with high accuracy, making the overall section easy. For VARC, aiming to attempt 16 to 18 questions with an accuracy of around 70% would be considered a good performance.
Slot 1 DILR Analysis:
The section's difficulty ranged from Medium to Difficult overall. It matched the difficulty level of the DILR Section in Slot 1 of CAT 2022. A solid performance would involve attempting 9 to 11 questions with an accuracy of around 75-80%.
Slot 1 QA Analysis:
The QA section turned out to be more challenging than last year's slots, with Algebra taking the lead with 8 questions, followed by Arithmetic with 7 questions. The key to success was choosing the right questions to attempt. Generally, aiming to attempt 9 to 11 questions with an accuracy of around 75-80% would be considered a good performance overall.

As per IMS, the overall difficulty level of CAT 2023 Slot 1 was more than that of CAT 2022 Slot 1. There were some changes in the DILR and Verbal sections. According to Career Launcher, CAT 2023 slot 1 was difficult with VARC being easier than last year while QA was more difficult. VARC was moderate to difficult, but it turned out easier than last year. DILR also fell in the moderate to difficult range, with a similar difficulty level as the previous year. QA, on the other hand, was just difficult and proved to be more challenging than the previous year.

As per our community members, the VARC section in CAT 2023 Slot 1 was of moderate difficulty and was on similar lines with CAT 2022. The DILR section was the hardest section of the three, while the QA section was difficult as well. Some CAT takers have told publishing media houses that some questions from CAT 2022 and CAT 2017 were repeated in the exam. We are going to dig deep into this with experts from at 8 PM, and with experts at CL at 11 PM.
