A guy wished to do an MBA from IIM-A/B/C because all his friends had done it from these B-school. He worked very hard for CAT-2017 and made a lot of sacrifices. The percentile he scored wasn’t what he wished for, he already had about 3 years of work experience and couldn’t wait for another year. Later, he joined IIM-Raipur, had a lot of mixed feelings, still wasn’t sure he wanted to continue his MBA here. He joined IIM-Raipur thinking that, he’ll withdraw his admission and leave the place in a week or two. But, he never knew that this place will play a charm on him and make him stick to the place.
He interacted with his peers, he interacted with his seniors. He started liking the people around. But the campus he was staying in wasn’t a big one as any of the older IIM’s would have. The single building became his place to eat, sleep, study. Still, he wasn’t feeling right in here. But then a college celebration was being organized. He formed a band with some of his peers. He was able to leave a mark on his peers.
The very next day he got a call from another B-school (This was the best options among the calls he had), he paid the basic admission fee for the college and was getting prepared to leave IIM-Raipur in 2-3 days for good. And then he started thinking about the bonds he had already formed with his peers, his roommates, seniors and the small campus which made him feel like family and those 2-3 days were very miserable to him.
But in those days he got more attached to the place and decided to stay back, later his perception about his campus changed a lot. The building, the canteen, the class, the gym, the park made him feel that they were his own and the attachment to this unique campus just because of its confined space makes it the best place to live in but he still hopes to go to the new campus and make new memories.
The clubs and committees had some special charm in them. He decided to participate in all the club and committee activities. The fun in the sessions, the rigour in some are something which he is enjoying a lot. The time of 3 weeks that he spent here has changed his perspective on a lot of things. The ice-breaker sessions, the late night walks with his friends, the weekend parties, the teachers, the assignments, the pedagogy makes his campus a unique place to live and study in. Hoping to learn a lot and make some beautiful memories and hopefully get some good memories. He is the guy who’s behaving like a kid in the picture - Teja.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
If given a chance to work in Aditya Birla Group, I’d love to work in the Marketing field of Birla Carbon which deals with black carbon rubber goods as it involves manufacturing in the field which constitutes of mechanical engineering, it got me interested because I feel like I could do justice to the field which I’ve done my graduation in and the field where my interest vests i.e Marketing in which I had prior experience in and will be the area where I will be doing my MBA.
