On the  24th of February 2022, the Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi held its Tenth Convocation ceremony at Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, IIM Ranchi, Pundag Campus. Degrees were conferred on 305 graduating students from the various programs, including 203 MBA grads, 72 MBA-HRM grads, six Ph.D. students, and 24 students of Executive MBA. The convocation ceremony started with the Academic Procession followed by Saraswati Vandana, Lighting of the Lamp, and the National Song. Prof. Shailendra Singh, Director, IIM Ranchi extended a warm welcome to Shri Arjun Munda, Hon’ble Minister of Tribal Affairs, Govt. Of India - The Chief Guest of the evening; Shri Praveen Shankar Pandya, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Ranchi; Shri CS Aman Poddar, Chairman – Ranchi Chapter, ICSI, and the audience - who were present at the venue as well as online via means of a live stream hosted on Youtube. Sir congratulated all the graduating students across the 4 programs and presented a brief report about the institute. He spoke of the institute's outstanding performance even amidst the pandemic and that the institution has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with AIIMS Deoghar and Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) Ahmedabad. The director advised students to shift their focus from profitability to sustainability of enterprises, work for harmonious coexistence of the organization, society, and the environment, and always imbibe behavior that reflects the core values of IIM Ranchi – humility, honesty, and hard work. After the recipients were facilitated with their awards, Shri Praveen Shankar Pandya, Chairman, BoG, IIM Ranchi, and Shri Arjun Munda, Hon’ble Minister of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India, the Chief Guest, addressed the students. Shri Pandya, Chairman, BoG spoke about how the institute didn’t have its campus a few years ago, had minimum facilities, and was running classes from Suchana Bhawan, while students were residing at Khelgoan. But with the support of the governing body, the new campus for the institute is set to be completed very soon. He wished the students all the best and thanked the faculties for imparting knowledge to the students. The ceremony was concluded by Shri Arjun Munda, Hon’ble Minister of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India, the Chief Guest, who congratulated the ‘business leaders of tomorrow’, asking them to use their zeal to empower innovative ideas for the social standing as he believes it is the duty of the students at a premier institute such as IIM Ranchi. - Anjali Chorei, MBA-HR'23 ( Media & Public Relations Cell in Collaboration with Ellipsis - The Literary Club )
