Excerpts from the Interview:
What makes waking up and going to work on a Monday morning exciting for you?
My role in Aditya Birla Group is quite amazing, and unique as I work in the Chairman’s office. My work involves assisting the Chairman directly over matters related to planning and budgeting process, conducting regular review and evaluation of business performance, decision-making on capital expenditure proposals, and formulation and implementation of strategic initiatives.
The Aditya Birla Group has a wide and diverse portfolio of companies, from textile manufacturing to retail, from financial services to manufacturing. And it’s really great because I can learn about each industry because decision-making for each industry is different. I also get to communicate my insights and see as they are being considered and implemented.
How are the goals of the Aditya Birla Group aligned with your personal goals?
First, I’ll tell about my goals. It is very important for me that in whatever I do I like it and that I learn from it. The crux of it is that I have to gain some knowledge and experience from what I’m doing. And I want to do my best in whatever I’m doing. Aditya Birla Group has a goal to be the best. They are in many industries and sectors and are succeeding in whatever they are doing. Aditya Birla Group believes in constant innovation to keep ahead of the times, and to achieve this, they want their employees to be knowledgeable about the industry scenario. This is how my goals align with the Aditya Birla Group.
In achieving its goal, Aditya Birla Group is facilitating me to reach my goal of learning. I am gaining an understanding of a diverse range of matters through my experience here, and how they give us enough freedom to make decisions and see them implemented.
Is the continuous focus on Innovation by the ABG keeping you loyal to the Group?
Well, yes! Aditya Birla Group has a focus on innovation. And this is because they push us to learn new things. The best part is that I love my work, and I love the team I’m working with, and I know not everyone gets to tell that. Also, I know that any decision I take truly matters, and I have seen multiple sectors, and the work I do has an impact on the organisation, that I can see. So, this brings the loyalty factor much into existence
What does the Aditya Birla Group symbolize?
The symbol of Aditya Birla Group is the rising sun and the pyramids. A true representation of the changes and transformations they have undergone because of the focus on innovation. This is actually seen across all the industries, as Aditya Birla Group continues to come up with new and innovative ideas. It can also be seen as a symbolism of how much progress has been made, to where Aditya Birla Group is now, and a testament to how much it’s achieved. It also shows what is yet to be achieved, and gives a message that we will do it.
