On 25
th August 2014, the Finance Club of IIM Shillong launched the anniversary issue of their monthly Finance magazine Niveshak. The magazine was launched by Mr. Sridhar Iyer, Digital Marketing Head, Citibank and the faculty coordinator of Finance Club, Prof. P. Saravanan. The theme of the issue is “Gears of Indian Growth Engine” and the magazine has covered various aspects on the same focusing on key industries.
The magazine in its section FinView has this year covered interviews from 4 top corporates and industry experts. The interview section covers Mr. Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, Chairman & Managing Director of Bandhan Financial Services, the organization which has recently won in-principle banking license from Reserve Bank of India, Mr. Ashish Sood, Deputy CEO, Retail and Private banking, Ahli Bank, Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Chaitanya Aggarwal, CEO, Juvalia.in, one of the fastest growing online imitation jewelry business and Mr. Nirakar Pradhan, Chief Investment Officer, Future Generali India Life Insurance.
The magazine covers the Union Budget 2014-15 at a glance, the maiden budget presented by Dr. Arun Jaitely this year in the parliament. It also covers the performance of Niveshak Investment Fund, an equity diversified investment fund launched by the Club six months back with the motive of beating the benchmark index Sensex.
As a precursor to this anniversary, the Finance Club organized a series of events under the aegis of
‘Celebratio - Celebrating 6 Glorious Years of Niveshak.’ The magazine celebrating its glorious six years has tried to bring out important factors that fuels Indian Growth Engine and had been a very successful launch for the Club.
