FMS Delhi, known for its ROI has reasons to celebrate when the placements keep on improving every year. The institute takes pride in its academic rigour which keeps nurturing managers of the future and naturally, the corporate world bestows faith in the institute and its students. Placements in FMS Delhi have a rich history and have seen students from various backgrounds getting placed in a variety of profiles in companies across various domains. In this report, we have deep-dived to see how the placement scenario has been at FMS Delhi over the last 5 years.
FMS Delhi Class of 2020 – A Summary
- 104 companies participated in the final placements process at FMS Delhi, with 88 companies making 234 offers to the MBA batch of 2020.
- There has been a 36% increase in the number of PPOs and a 42% increase in the number of consulting offers being made as compared to last year.
- For the first time, 75% of the offers were above 20 LPA with average CTC of top quartile at 37.3 LPA. The average CTC for women also increased to 26.2 LPA.
- FMS recorded the highest ever average CTC of Rs. 25.6 LPA - an 11% increase over the previous year.
- 33% of the candidates got placed in Consulting, Strategy and General Management domain, the Operations/IT/E-commerce domain received 26% of the total offers, 24% of offers were offered in the sales and marketing domain, and 17% of the total offers were from the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) domain.
- Top brands on campus included ITC Limited, Asian Paints, Airtel, American Express, Barclays, HSBC, Aditya Birla Group, Flipkart, Tata Administrative Services, A.T. Kearney, Capgemini E.L.I.T.E. and Delhivery, amongst others.
Here are some key points that we have observed after studying the 5 years data of the placement scenario in FMS Delhi.
Important Placement Statistics – 5 Years Analysis
Observations:
- The number of pre-placement offers accepted went up significantly for the class of 2020 as it saw a 29% increase from the previous year.
- The number of companies making offers also increased by approximately 29.4% in 2020 compared to 2019.
- With the exception of 2019, the number of companies making offers has constantly increased over the years.
5 Year Analysis of Placement Data

Observations:
- The average and Median CTC have been growing continuously in the last 5 years.
- The highest CTC offered saw a dip in between but leapfrogged from 48 LPA to 58.5 LPA per annum, an increase of 22%.
4 Year Analysis of Function-wise Offers Made To PGP Batches

- The % of placements in the IT/E-commerce/Operations sector has gone up significantly in the last two years.
- The % of placements in the other domains apart from IT/E-commerce/Operations has reduced over the years.
Last 2 Year Analysis of MBA (FT) Batch’s Work Experience

- The percentage of students with a background of 37+ months has increased for the class of 2020.
- The percentage of students who are fresher and who are having a work experience of 13-24 months has decreased for the class of 2020 compared to 2019.
Largest Recruiters of FMS Delhi Over The Years
Class of 2020: 33% of the candidates got placed in Consulting, Strategy and General Management domain. Prominent recruiters offering roles in this domain were ABG, Accenture Strategy, Airtel, Bain & Company, Capgemini E.L.I.T.E, EY, Flipkart, Kearney, McKinsey & Company, Shell, TAS, and Xiaomi.
Class of 2019: Some of the prominent recruiters were Accenture Strategy, Amazon, BCG, EY Consulting, McKinsey & Company, Microsoft, Flipkart, Airtel etc.
Class of 2018: Some of the prominent recruiters were Avendus, Goldman Sachs, Accenture Strategy, EY Consulting, Microsoft, Mondelez, Airtel, Flipkart etc.
