I had done my bachelors in commerce from University of Delhi. In DU, generally the course is highly theoretical so there was just a little focus on practical aspects.
So, I had a lot of expectations from a b-school. One of it and most important was that where I can learn the practical aspects of the business and discuss with my peers about the various strategies being adopted in the current business scenario. So, this is what I got to see in the class of IIM Raipur.
Before I start the part of what we discussed in the classroom. I would like to share the demographics of the class that I got to interact with before my first class. I met engineers from NITs and IITs, 2 doctors, some brilliant minds from top commerce and economics colleges like SRCC, Hindu etc.
I was quite overwhelmed by the diversity I got to see in IIM Raipur. So, when I first attended my very first session which was of marketing management with Mr. Dhananjay Bapat, I was quite overwhelmed by the discussion. I got to listen various point of views on the very same topic influenced by their work experience or might be what they had studied in their graduation. Even from the very fundamentals to some core strategies of various companies, everyone contributed their experience with the marketing world and if they could had been the marketing manager of that company, what they would have done. Seriously, it was a very memorable experience because I wanted to be at such a place where I can listen and understand such diverse viewpoints and could contribute for the same.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
I would like to work for Aditya Birla capital because I want to pursue a career in finance domain. If I get the opportunity to work in Aditya Birla Capital, I will be working in a domain in which I can work up to my full potential by heart. And the share of private NBFCs are continuously growing in India and I want to contribute to this growth.
