“The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet.” This years old adage by Aristotle will be best realized by the students of Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak on the occasion of their 5th Convocation Ceremony to be held on 19th March.
The honorable HRD Minister, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani will preside as the Chief Guest at the event. She will address the gathering and award gold medals for best scholastic and all round performance. Mr. Ravi Kant, Chairman of the Board of Governors will confer diplomas to 145 students, who would finally bear the fruit of their perseverance and dedication.
Dr. Atanu Rakshit, Director, IIM Rohtak reported that the passing out batch has already been placed in respected profiles across various companies. They will now join the network of a strong alumni base of the institute, and will prove the mettle of the premier institute in the Industry. He also recounted the exceptional growth of the institute in terms of student intake, research published by the faculty, collaborations with different international business schools and placements. He said that this year too, the average package offered has increased by 12.5% as compared to the previous year.
The PGP batch of 2014-16 took forward many initiatives of IIM Rohtak, like the Run for the Girl Child Mini Marathon, Swabhav, Sparsh, etc. Through several Business Summits and Management Conclaves, they frequently engaged with the industry and bridged the gap between the corporate and the academic worlds. The batch also brought numerous accolades to the institute with triumphs in competitions at the national/regional level such as Mahindra War Room, Deloitte Maverick, FLIP Challenge and fests of premier B-Schools. They also made immense contributions in carrying forward the club activities of Marque, Finance Club, Strategy and Consulting Club, Supply Chain Management Club, Voice – the debate club of IIM Rohtak, and others.
