In the pursuit of day to day academics, oftentimes sports take a back seat. Marrying both sports and academics becomes a challenging task to fathom. But have you ever wondered what a day in the life of a sports manager looks like? How would it feel like to be associated with nurturing and developing budding talents into stars of tomorrow?
Atul Kumar, an XLRI alum, always wanted to be a sportsperson. But as life would have it, he couldn’t cross the last mile to become a sportsman. But with Tata Steel, Atul got another opportunity to live his dream of getting into the world of sports. After joining Tata Steel as a procurement manager, Atul gradually rose to become a sports manager, handling day to day operations at various Tata sporting facilities in Jamshedpur. Be it overseeing the archery academy, keeping track of the boys at Football academy or spearheading the High-Performance center at Tata, Atul lives his dream currently at Tata marrying his profession and passion. Tata Steel has been instrumental in changing the face of sports in the country. Be it producing world-class archers like Deepika Kumari or Arjuna Award winner Bagicha Singh, Tata Steel has been putting the Indian mark at the global sporting circuit for years now. And it encourages sports enthusiasts like Atul to join and be part of managing the growing repository of future sporting stars. Tata Steel is not another company that focuses solely on its business but believes in giving back to the nation. And to do so, it is in constant lookout for people like Atul who are passionate about sports. Tell us in the comments section below if you would like to be a part of the ever-growing conglomerate like Tatas and why! *This is a promoted feature.
