Graduating out of BITS Pilani, with a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Mehul was initially unsure of his career path. With his peers getting placed in IT companies, Mehul started to feel the pressure.
With uncertainty looming, Mehul decided to give it his all to Aditya Birla Group’s Engineering Leadership Program. After performing well in all three rounds of ELP, i.e., Psychometric Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview, Mehul was offered a role with ABG.
The uncertainty didn’t end with that though, as it was yet to be decided, where and to which project, Mehul would find himself assigned. It turned out to be the up-and-coming, Birla Paints Division under Grasim Industries.
Touted to be one of the biggest projects in the Paints segment, looking to disrupt the status quo, and emerge as the second biggest player in the paints segment, ABG has infused 10,000 cr. to back this project.
And that is exactly, where Mehul found himself, at one of the six upcoming plants of Birla Paints, building it from scratch.
In this video, Mehul shares his journey from college to ABG, about responsibilities being handed at such a young age, and what his day at work looks like among other things.
