To attract meritorious students into research, the Government of India, in 2018 launched Prime Minister’s Research Fellows (PMRF) Scheme, which offers direct admission to such students in the PhD programmes in IITs, IISERs and IISc. The scheme is aimed at attracting the talent pool of the country to doctoral (PhD) programmes for carrying out research in cutting-edge science and technology domains, with a focus on national priorities.
In this video, we've invited Vijit Kanjilal who is currently pursuing his PhD in Astrophysics from Indian Institute of Sciences(IISc), Banglore. Vijit has done his under graduation from India's third oldest and prestigious engineering college i.e. Indian Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur in Aerospace Engineering stream.
