Surf Excel, Dove, Clinic Plus, Vaseline, Sunsilk, Pepsodent, Close Up, Kissan, Red Label, Kwality Wall's, Vim, and more! At least one of the Unilever products listed above finds a place of pride in every Indian household. This industry giant's flagship Hindustan Unilever Changemakers program 2023, which saw 1000+ applications, handpicked a wonderful cohort of 45 students and invited us to the colorful, vibrant campus of Hindustan Unilever at Andheri, Mumbai. The Changemakers Program allowed us to immerse ourselves into the business world and understand how brands grow and sustain over the long term. We had interactive sessions with industry stalwarts who shed light on the origin stories behind big brands such as Dove, Taj, and many more. Few senior leaders at HUL also took us through Unilever's journey towards sustainability and digital transformation. To gain consumer insights, we had fruitful discussions on topics like the 'Art of Asking Questions'; as also consumer house visits to understand the common man's product preferences. We also had the opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal Tea House to acquaint ourselves with their iconic tea brand Brooke Bond Taj Mahal. To manage a feat like that is no easy task. Hats off to the coordinators at HUL and to the InsideIIM team to bring such wonderful opportunities to students. Finally, the best takeaway from this journey has been interacting with a very smart bunch of people. Kudos to my fellow Changemakers :)
