Amazon is one of the most aspired workplaces today. Be it their startup culture, leadership principles or just their products, b-schoolers hope to get an internship with Amazon. In this highly detailed interview, IIM Kozhikode student describes the complex and thorough process that he underwent to get selected for a summer internship and finally get a PPO, with Amazon. Here's how he did it!

Summary of the video:

Wondering how Amazon hires top talent? What is the complete procedure that the company follows to hire Summer Interns from India's top business schools? How many rounds of selection exist, and how do you prepare yourself for such a seemingly daunting interview process with Amazon? And finally, what are the things to keep in mind before and during the internship to get that PPO? In this video, Kinjal Srivastava, a part of IIM Kozhikode’s PGP Class of 2020, describes how he made it to Amazon as a Summer Intern and finally bagged a PPO. From zeroing in on Amazon as his preferred company and describing in detail his interview experience with them to expressing his ecstasy upon being selected, Kinjal shares with us his unforgettable selection process. He talks about the process he followed to tailor his résumé, how he prepared for the interviews at Amazon, and how he tackled unforeseen challenges in the interview process. Further, Kinjal shares his pre-internship prep and tells us how he connected with seniors to get clarity on his role. For those wondering what an MBA grad, especially an engineering student do at Amazon, Kinjal explains the intricacies of his work and project as well. He shares how his internship was a part of the MLDP or the Marketplace Leadership Development Program. He shares how his role involved marrying the functions of a business development manager, program manager and a marketing manager. He further talks in detail about 3 projects he worked on as a part of his internship. He takes us through the salient points of his internship and tells us how and why he received and accepted a PPO from Amazon.

Here are a few key takeaways from Kinjal's interview:

1. If you’re not sure of the vertical you want to choose, you can prepare for interviews based on your background.
2. Make it a point to learn about the company you’re interviewing for.
3. You don’t work to impress your manager, but to add value.
4. Take ownership of your internship projects in order to get a PPO.
5. Deep dive into your project in order to deliver the best results and eventually get a PPO.
