It was a Wednesday, yes a Wednesday, i clearly remember. The final selected list of athletes who would represent the college relay team for the inter-college sports competition was announced. The list which i had been consistently a part of for many events, did not feature my name any more. It was the end of the world for me. This particular incident broke my heart but also served as a wake up call for me. I knew that my diet was a mess and it started to reflect on my body. I was becoming heavy and it affected my speed  and even my mental well being. I introspected and the causes for my predicament was very obvious. I was certain that i cannot continue like this nor i will be able to forgive myself for what i have done to myself. I didn't want to end up as a nobody. This is the point where i decided to change. I started to keep a watch on my diet, hit the gym and dedicate some of my time in sprinting practice. It was a hard way back but i was determined enough. Soon my perseverance started to pay off and i was slowly but steadily becoming the best version of myself. I dont have words to explain the kind of confidence this instilled in me. I applied for the college team again in the succeeding year and guess what? i finally got back to where i belong. This whole phase taught me an important lesson - Never to take anything for granted and the sense of entitlement would put you in a dangerous path. But if you believe in yourself, no matter where your life takes you, rest assured that you will succeed.
