Continuing her talk about the HR profession, Harshita takes us through her stint at Honeywell, where she did a Learning and Development role. A TISS alum, she has worked with big companies like Mondelez, Colgate-Palmolive, Honeywell, and Nestle, currently holding a senior position with Freshworks. She talks of the challenges that an LnD Professional faces, and how they deal with varying ranks of businesses, right from fresh joinees to the top brass. Each rank requires a different kind of program to be designed, and each requires special care.
She then moves on to her time at Nestle, and how Nestle taught her the importance of trust. She was a part of the Campus Engagement and Talent, which she calls not just an HR profile, but also a marketing and branding profile. Even if your organization is well known, it needs to be perceived as one of the best recruiters on campus, which needs you to have marketing and brand communication skills. She talks about recruitment, and how she goes about it. She tells us her favorite questions to ask candidates, and how these questions help her gauge whether or not the candidate is a good fit for her organization. In addition, the fitment bit is a two-way street. She says that as much as it is important for the candidate to be the right fit, it’s equally important for the organization to be a good fit for the candidate. Expectations come from both sides.
