The latest buzzword in Marketing – “Data-driven marketing”, definitely made a huge show in the SCMHRD campus on Sunday, the 29th of September 2019. For the very first time, SCMHRD witnessed the campus round of “Lessons in Marketing Excellence” – India’s most prestigious B-School challenge which is televised on CNBC-TV18 in association with Hindustan Unilever Limited, popularly known as HUL L.I.M.E. The 11th season of L.I.M.E. managed to evoke a lot of enthusiasm among the students which reflected in the total number of registrations received from SCMHRD. The stage was set for the top 6 campus finalists to present their cases. The panellists included Ms. Shibani Gharat, Principal Correspondent, CNBC Awaaz , Mr. Venkata Krishna, Consumer Cluster Head, HUL and our very own faculty, Dr. K. Rajagopal, Associate Professor, Marketing. The solutions presented by the finalists lived up to the theme of the competition. The focus throughout was on the mass customisation of ‘Data-driven Marketing’. HUL was looking for how one uses data signals that are generated all around to understand the consumer better and the way that it is brought back into play in traditional marketing.  The finalists were given 7 minutes to present their solutions post which they had to answer questions that gave them an opportunity to deep dive into their research and analysis. The host for the event Ms. Radhika Sinha from CNBC – TV18, livened up the venue by interacting with the participants and kept the audiences engaged with an impromptu quiz. All solutions presented were well researched and the teams used data to define and understand their target groups. All the teams put up a good fight but the team that emerged victorious was team ‘Lemon & Lime’.  They took away a cash prize of one lakh rupees and also a PPI for HUL’s Future Leadership Program as a Management Trainee in Sales & Marketing. They will now be competing with the campus winners of the other participating B-schools to become winners of the 11th Edition of HUL L.I.M.E. Also, National winners get a chance to become HUL’s representative to Future Leaders League 2020 on a Global platform. HUL L.I.M.E. with its theme this year emphasized that ‘it’s not just about reaching the right consumer but reaching them with a right message, in the right context at the right time’, and our campus winners fulfilled the requisites with their winning solution.
