This  season we bring you the second part of our series "MYRAcles". In this part we talk to the young talent at MYRA School of Business, Mysore and share some interesting experiences that they had at the school. This time we spoke to Manoranjan Kumar. Manoranjan worked for 3 years with Titan prior to joining MYRA and got a chance to intern with his dream company, Tata Motors!   1) Tell us something about your academic journey. After 12th, I got selected in Indian Air Force (X-group) and Benaras Hindu University for graduation. Chose BHU for graduation and started preparing for engineering entrance while studying in BHU. Got selected in VIT Vellore next year and pursued Bachelors of Technology (Mechanical) from VIT Vellore. I got place at Titan through the campus and worked for the next 3 years in Titan Automation Solution.   2) You have done your graduation in diverse fields from geography to engineering and now pursuing a management degree. How did this shift towards management happen? At BHU, I studied for a year, so I do not have any degree from there as such. I was always inclined towards physics and engineering. The one year course at Benaras Hindu University was only to secure my future prospects. While working at Titan, I developed an interest in marketing as I am fond of talking to people, negotiating and roaming around different places.   3) How did MYRA happen to you? I got to know about MYRA through InsideIIM. I believe that the colleges which your platform talks about aren’t ordinary colleges. Also after going through MYRA’s website and talking to people there, I got impressed with the professors, infrastructure, immersion learning program and placements.   4) Tell us something about your summer internship. What was the most exciting part during these two months of industry interaction? I interned with TATA Motors at Bangalore, my dream company. It was an awesome experience.I was the part of promotion of Bolt and Zest and spoke to many customers. I also helped organize the lucky customers meet the RCB team and was myself lucky to meet Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and other members of the team.   5) What do you like most about MYRA? The best part about MYRA is the strength of professors which it has. I don’t think that in India, one can get guidance from professors mentoring students at King’s college (London), Harvard, Arizona, ISB and many others at such an affordable cost.   6) Any advice for budding aspirants and your juniors at MYRA? I will just say that chase your dreams with full dedication because even that dream needs dedicated efforts. One can make their way through any kind of valley if one has the determination, so college is just a platform and it entirely depends upon your capabilities to make the best of these 2 years.   Manoranjan Kumar is a second year student at MYRA School of Business. Everything about MYRA is available here – myra.insideiim.com This is a promoted feature story.
