Sports - A passion, dream, hobby and above all, an addiction for many! IGNATIA, Season 2 is here for all such sports fanatics from various IIMs across the nation to come and prove themselves!
IGNATIA: Tuning the inspiration from “Sangharsh”, the sports fest hosted by IIM A, B, C and L, the East zone IIMs came up with IGNATIA - Season 1, which begun in 2016 and was hosted by IIM Ranchi. IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Ranchi and IIM Raipiur took part in that edition. The Sports Committee of the host institute takes care of the entire event starting from planning, PR activities and executing this sports fest. Participants get to flaunt their sporting skills in Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, Basketball, Throwball, Carom, Chess, Squash, Table Tennis and Lawn Tennis – only to name a few. IGNATIA 2016 had an amazing start with IIM Calcutta marching way ahead in the medals tally followed by IIM Ranchi and IIM Indore. The second edition of IGNATIA hosted by IIM Indore promises to be bigger and better with the inclusion of IIM Lucknow and IIM Shillong.
IGNATIA Season 2 at IIM Indore: IIM Indore is known for its humungous infrastructure (read all about it
here ) and has ample sports infrastructure provided for the students like well-equipped gymnasiums, extended sports facilities like squash and lawn tennis courts , an olympic sized swimming pool, sports complex, full-fledged cricket field, a mini football ground, a basketball court and table tennis facilities at different hostels. This year, all the events except for football and badminton will be conducted in the serene IIM Indore campus. The Sporting culture at IIM Indore is very rich with intra-college events like Section wars, Chunauti, IVL, IFL, IPL conducted throughout the year. Inter college events like IRIS Sports and Ranbhoomi are also conducted with very active and enthusiastic participation from colleges all over the country. Moreover, IIM Indore has proved its mettle in outstation national level fests as the college was adjusted the Overall Runner-up at Shaurya (IIM Ahmedabad) and Sprint (SP Jain) in last academic session. Hence, IIM Indore is thrilled to be the host of such a prestigious event.
During the fest, you not only get to witness the B-school students at their sporting avatar but also enjoy off-the-field activities like taking selfies with friends in the selfie booths, interacting with participants from other IIMs and indulging in all the yummy food in the food stalls put up for you.
So put away your books for a while, wear those sporting gears and come to showcase your sporting skills, make new friendships and witness a single spirit that puts together the 6 institutes, 15 events and 1500+ people to rock IGNATIA 2017!
