Please Share Your Interview Experience IIMB Panel 3 25/03/21 3 panelists, M in 50s, F1 in 50s and F2 in 30s(alumnus) Had a wifi issue initially but they were co-operative about it. Exchanged plesantries F1: So, shivansh you are in final year? P: Yes, ma'am, I am currently in 8th semester F1: So tell me whether you sat for placements? P: Yeah, I sat for a couple of companies but I could not clear all the rounds. F1: Okay, so how were online placements different than offline ones. P: Talked about training programs for online interviews, extra materials and mock interviews. F1: Your favorite subject is ML? P: Yes, ma'am. F1: What is ML? P: Explained with examples. F1: How is it different from regression analysis by statisticians? P: Told about the complexity of real world problems which don't follow any curve. F1: So what is a decision tree? Explain to a novice like me via drawing or example. P: Ma'am it is just like an interviewer. You have criteria on which you wanna classify right or wrong. When some candidate qualifies through all criteria you select him, i.e. your solution. F1: Fair enough. My last question, why not MS? P: I don't have a keen interest in research. F1: Thank you. M: So what is your dream company after 2 years of MBA? P: I talked a lot here about the difference between my dream company now and what it will be in 2 years. Could have avoided it. Landed at consulting. M: Okay, so take your time and be a consultant and tell me what should I do, as director of IIT Bhilai(my college) to make my mark? And power outage. Reconnected seconds later and apologised. He repeated the question for me. I took some time and drew a four-part plan targetting student life, faculty recruitment, infra and placements. Seemed satisfied with it. F2: Okay Shivansh, you have written that you want to come to IIMB as it offers the most electives and decision sciences courses. Why not an MS in AI and then MBA? P: Stuck to my earlier answer and said I would prefer MBA instead of spending my years getting MS. F2: How does entrepreneurship fit into your scheme of things? P: Answered carefully so as to not throw keywords. F2: Very crisply describe any one of your ML projects. P: Talked about a song popularity predictor that we made. F2: Asked me about models and features, how did you procure training data. P: Answered. F1: Okay unless you have any question about the course, and please don't make up one, you may log off. P: Said thank you for the opportunity and it was a pleasure. Logged off. Chill panelists
